SEVEN EVENTS FUNDRAISER - DEEPAK TRIVEDI
‘Seven Events’ was established by six university students in their final year of studying events management in Greenwich, London. The students were given an assignment to conduct a live event of their choice, after speaking to Deepak Trivedi the director of strategy for SeniorLink, ‘Seven Events’ decided to work in collaboration with SeniorLink to raise the awareness of the charity among young adults within the UK.
‘Seven Events’ decided to hold a live band night that would feature local up-and-coming talent. The band night took place on Monday 7th March 2011, and featured four local bands plus a DJ between and after performances. The live performances consisted of Hazel Raye & Daniel Campbell, five working days, stay seventeen and headlining the band night was the Debut who have recently been signed.
Raising the awareness of SeniorLink was a top priority to ‘Seven Events,’ therefore the students made sure the SeniorLink logo and website was at all times visible on the pre-event advertising, on the night at the venue and also on their memorable silicon wristband tickets. ‘Seven Events’ had the lead singer of The Debut talk about the charity and what the charity does, to encourage attendees to donate and also get involved.
The event was a great success in raising the awareness of SeniorLink. After the event the students asked attendees what they had learnt from the band night and were surprised with the amount of information attendees took from the event, attendees were able to talk about the charity, identify the logo and some attendees knew the SeniorLink website of-by-heart. ‘Seven Events’ were proud that they raised awareness of SeniorLink and also were able to raise profit from the event which was donated to the charity.
It was a pleasure working in collaboration with SeniorLink, who were always supportive of ‘Seven Events’ ideas and plans.’ Seven Events' would like to wish SeniorLink every bit of success and growth and hope to work with the SeniorLink team again in the future.
